Schon besser sind aus MDF gefräste Adapter, die jedoch nach einiger Zeit aufquellen können, da das MDF-Holz in den Fahrzeugtüren teils hoher Feuchtigkeit und Kälte ausgesetzt ist. Am Ende bieten sie dann den Lautsprechern keinen optimalen Halt mehr. Auf der Unterseite befindet sich ein rundum aufgeklebter Schaumstoffring, der eine optimale Dichtung zwischen  Adapterring und Fahrzeugblech bietet. Genial: Unter der Dichtung wurden im Alu-Adapterring massive  Messingmuttern eingearbeitet. Diese bieten den mitgelieferten M4 Gewindeschrauben perfekten Halt für den zu montierenden Lautsprecher. Kombiniert man die MSR Adapterringe zusätzlich mit den MSB165 Silikon-Manschetten, sind ideale „Arbeitsbedingungen“ für die Lautsprecher geschaffen.
